Ricky’s journey in the sewing industry began in 1976 with a single retail store in Tennessee and a clear focus: building a business by helping customers succeed. Alongside Kay, they grew multiple locations and later built Best Sewing in Knoxville into one of the largest single-location sewing retail operations of its time, while launching Hands-On® Sewing Schools to strengthen education at the retail level.

In 2004, they transitioned from retail to industry leadership, co-founding RNK Distributing and helping develop Floriani Embroidery Products and other trusted brands used in stores worldwide. Inducted into the Sewing Hall of Fame, Ricky and Kay are respected for sharing practical, retailer-proven strategies that drive education, loyalty, and long-term success—insights every forward-thinking dealer should hear.
