Open To Buy is an inventory budget. On paper, it functions like the envelope budget system. You choose how much money goes into the inventory envelope. You decide what inventory to buy and pay the vendor. Add money to the envelope with sales. Instead of envelopes and cash, we’ll use sales reports and spreadsheets. During this class you’ll learn the parts of an Open to Buy, the OTB math formula and how to use historical sales and current trends to make an OTB for your business.
