Kids Camp at Fabric and Fiber Craft Festival are taught by the talented team at the Creativity Shell, a nonprofit organization on a mission to use creative trades to educate and inspire the next generation of makers. Founded in 2015 by Shelancia Daniel, Moda Fabrics Designer and BERNINA Industry Alliance Partner, The Creativity Shell provides hands-on instruction in sewing and textile arts, cooking, building, and other creative trades in studios, libraries, schools, ABA therapy centers, the juvenile justice system, and shelters that serve children experiencing homelessness and human trafficking. Every class is intentionally designed to teach essential life skills, practical skills, and positive mental health coping strategies. The Creativity Shell believes there is no “one size fits all” approach to education. As technology continues to increase in the classroom and the value of trades decreases, the organization remains committed to equipping children with tangible skills that empower them to thrive as a generation of makers rather than a generation of buyers.
