Speaker Bio
Darcy Lewis has been teaching a variety of textile and arts classes for over 20 years, and her work has been seen in Threads Magazine, The Denver Art Museum, the Mizel Museum, Detroit’s Channel 4, The New York Times, the Houston Quilt Festival, the National Quilt Museum, and a variety of galleries, museums, and publications around the world.

As the daughter of a mixed media artist and a costume designer for Opera Colorado, her earliest memories revolve around colors and textures and the interplay between them. She loves the warmth of fabric and the richness of its varied textures. Having lived in Israel, Japan and China, she draws inspiration from multiple aesthetics to create connections between cultures and peoples. She learned to sew at age 4, and started winning awards for it by age 8.
