Take the fear out of free motion quilting. Learn how to stitch 6, beginner-friendly, background fill designs that you can apply to your quilts. You’ll leave with a sampler of designs and confidence to quilt your next project. These designs will add beautiful texture to your next quilt. Skill Level: Beginner Learning Objectives: Students will learn how to set up their machine for free motion quilting and stitch six foundational designs with smooth movements. Machine: sewing machine or sit down quilting machine
There is no kit – but I will provide a printed handout/workbook which contains each design and tips for drawing/stitching. That will be approximately 7 pages at a cost of $5.00
Other Equipment: I will demonstrate how to draw the designs first. I’d like to have an easel/paper pad at a minimum so that the whole class can see.
Supply List: (7) practice quilt sandwiches that are 12”x 12” squares (1 for warm up to get a feel for machine, and the rest for each design learned). How to make practice quilt squares: Cut (2) 12” x 12” squares of solid color fabric. Cut (1) 12” x 12” square of batting. Sandwich batting between fabric layers and either lightly spray baste together. Thread (any color or brand) Scissors Ruler Fabric marker or chalk
