Includes all supplies (bogolan pieces, background fabric, Valdani perle cotton, needles, handout).

Students should bring scissors to class.

Kit is Required.

Kit Fee: $35

Available as Cash & Carry on site.

Kit Content:

  • 8 different pieces of bogolan , each 6" x 6" minimum, PLUS access to a "community box" with smaller pieces
  • Valdani perle cotton threads #5 weight (full spools are shared among the students)
  • Solid cream bogolan fabric for background
  • Large eye embroidery needles
  • Basic tip sheet on slow stitching

Imported from Mali, hand-woven, eco-friendly mudcloth features dramatic designs. Photos show a representation of the colors & patterns -- as with all handcrafted textiles, each design varies.

The finished size is approx 15" square. The students make the piece in class, then they can finish it as a pillow, wall hanging, denim jacket panel, table topper, tote bag panel, etc... Samples and tips for finishing are shared in class.
