Have you ever seen someone knit without looking down at their work and wondered how they do that? Knitting without looking is more than just a party trick, it enables us to watch a show or visually interact with others while continuing to knit; knit while traveling without fear of motion sickness; and future-proof our hobby against aging and tired eyes or visual impairment. In this class you'll learn the simple tricks that will release you from the need to see what you're doing.
We'll practice a variety of stitches beyond simple knits and learn how to set ourselves up for success in our efforts.
Supply List
- Bring your homework swatch (described below) still on the needles with at least 30 additional yards of the yarn attached
- A dozen stitch markers
- A bandana, sleep mask, or lightweight scarf that is comfortable to wear as a blindfold.
Homework:
Before class begins, using a smooth, worsted to chunky weight yarn and appropriate needles for working flat with that yarn, cast on 20 stitches and work one inch in stockinette stitch. Leave the stitches live on the needles and do not cut the yarn.
